Overview of Human Rights

The concept of ‘Human Rights’ is the recent origin ,emerging after the II world War.  Human Rights is the minimal rights which every individual must have against the state or other public authority by virtue of  being a ‘Member of Human Family’.
On 10th December 1948, United Nations came out with the ‘Universal Declaration of Human Rights’. These rights are incorporated in constitution of almost all the states of the world including our country.  However, these rights are not absolute, that means the rights are restricted and controlled by various agencies especially by those who are supposed to safeguard the same often violate. Especially violations are more in case of women, children, under trials, underprivileged and weaker section of society.
Hence there is need to create an awareness about Human Rights and about the available protective mechanisms.   Young students and adults are the target group in society for this awareness education. This subject is lacking in the core curriculum of schools and colleges. Hence awareness program is required to introduce fundamental concepts about professional ethics and human values.
Special expertise along with the obligation to serve humanity with complete sincerity should be borne in our youngsters ‘mind be it whatever profession they  take in future.
The Institute of Human Rights is committed to impart knowledge of good moral values and professional ethics by conducting guest lectures in educational institutions.
